LIBERTA means liberty or freedom, elefthería or lefteriá in Greek, and is rightfully considered to be the highest and most desirable ideal for humanity.

The area, the climate and the people

The area surrounding Palelóni is rural, naturally intact and has escaped human intervention. The land is sparsely populated, offers an interesting, varied landscape, and is lush green covered with olive trees, orange trees and lemon trees. The visitor will be impressed by the abundance and variety of the natural vegetation and flowers composing an unsurpassable, tranquil natural scenery. Palelóni and its adjacent settlements have maintained their traditional, cultural, architectural, and folklore character, as well as their local, healthy diet. The locals are friendly and hospitable toward tourists. There are many foreigners that have settled here for good; for most of them the mild climate of the area, the peaceful leisure of the country life, and the relaxed, healthy and economical Mediterranean lifestyle create the ideal living conditions.

Beaches and views

The closest beach is Obrós Gialós, situated 3km away from LIBERTA VILLAS; there, you will also find a small quite tavern with a spectacular view of the sea, where you can enjoy delicious, fresh fish.
Other beaches close at hand are Almirída beach just 6km away, Kalíves beach 10km away, and Georgioúpoli beach 8 km away.
The area provides a wide range of recreational alternatives that suit all tastes and pockets. The visitors will also have the chance to visit numerous sights, explore interesting attractions and take up various excursions in the surrounding area and will thus never get bored.
There are also some interesting churches, some of which have been built inside caves.

• 5km away from the village of Vámos, where you can find, among other facilities, a Health Centre, banks, and a post office.
• 33km from the city of Chania. offering easy access to a wide spectrum of services, such as the Prefectural fully-equipped hospital, an airport, the harbour of Soúda, as well as the Venetian harbour, ideal for romantic strolls.
• 35km from the city of Réthimno also featuring a harbour, and a hospital.
• 100km from Iráklio, where the University Hospital of Crete is located.

The Municipality of Vámos consists of the following settlements: Kalamítsi, Amígdalo, Litsárda, Soúri, Seliá, Likotinará, Xirostérni, Kefalás, PALELÓNI, Gavalohóri, Àgios Pávlos, Drápanos, Kókkino Horió, Pláka, Àspron and Almirída.

The villas

LIBERTA VILLAS in its final form will be an autonomous small settlement comprising 12 villas, a tavern-bar with a large swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a fountain, a mini market, and sports facilities. All villas are traditionally stone made and are integrated harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.
Four two-storied villas are available at present: one two-room villa, and one three-room villa featuring a private pool. The swimming pool next to the tavern, the Jacuzzi, as well as state-of-the art sanitary facilities for disabled guests are also now available.
All villas are equipped with independent air-conditioning and feature embrasures with insect screens. The narrow paved lanes, the stone terraces and corridors, the lawn, the colourful gardens and flower beds exude an aura of unique aesthetics and glamour. Special attention has been paid to the design of each villa's private space, as well as the configuration of the common spaces, where our guests can socialise depending on their wishes.
Walk freely through our small settlement or the surrounding land that belongs to the owner of LIBERTA VILLAS and relax or enjoy reading under the shade of large perennial olive trees listening to the bird's singing.

Next to the swimming pool of LIBERTA VILLAS, we have created a clean, warm and friendly ambience, where you can enjoy your meal, coffee, or drink.

In the beautiful interior spaces of the restaurant or the yard right next to our swimming pool, you can taste flavourful, sophisticated dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients on a daily basis from 9:00 am to 24:00 pm.
